Team Building
I love being with people and I absolutely love to have fun. But the two don't always go hand-in-hand. People are complex and unique, meaning that when we're thrown together sometimes things get challenging. Throughout my life, I have learned (oftentimes the hard way!) that the best way isn't always my way. I've learned to see the value of others' experiences and to find ways to help them thrive. This is pretty much exactly what team building should be: learning to see the value of another and realizing our potential when we are together. I think the best way to do that is through laughter and shared experiences.
I have had the privilege for the last year or so to work with Group Dynamix, a company on the cutting-edge of team building. As a group facilitator, I have learned game after game that challenges the way people think, act, and treat one another. Through these games, we are able to help build camaraderie and establish meaningful relationships that go beyond "working together", "resolving conflict", and "meeting goals". Beyond my work at GDX, I have led Outdoor Education classes and groups from across the globe to learn what it means to build a team, work together, and value one another in fun and innovative ways.
